A Letter From the President
A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT . . .

Happy New Year!  DTC’s 2011-2012 season is in full swing.
As I look back on 2011, I’m so proud of what we accomplished and the quality of shows we’ve produced. Our peers at Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH) agree as we just received 12 WATCH Nominations, six each for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (February 2011) and Little Shop of Horrors (June 2011). Winners will be announced on March 11.
In July, She Loves Me (November 2010) won the Ruby Griffith Award for Outstanding Achievement in a Musical presented by the British Players. Also of note last year were our 10 WATCH nominations for SLM, one of which DTC won for Outstanding Set Decoration and Set Dressing in a Musical (Nancy Eynon Lark).
In November, DTC presented Oliver at Olney Theatre Center, on the Historic Stage.  Our show received glowing reviews and was named one of the Maryland Theatre Guide’s “Best of 2011.”
Through grant writing, we continue to receive such great support from The Montgomery County Arts Council which is an amazing testament to the quality of shows we are presenting.
This year we will be presenting Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (February), DTC Kids’ Fiddler on the Roof Jr. (May), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (June).
Our membership is growing and we urge members and anyone that wants to join our efforts to contact us to see how they can become more involved.  We are always in need of volunteers.
Stay tuned, we’ll be announcing our 2012-2013 season soon!
