A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT . . .
Our 24th year created many fond memories of Urinetown The Musical, Heaven Calls and They're Playing Our Song. Our volunteers also have many more wonderful ideas for the future and can barely contain their excitement as we anticipate the beginning of our 25th Anniversary Season!
We are calling on all past and present DTC members to get involved in our Silver Anniversary Celebration (which we are organizing as you read this newsletter). We want to invite everyone to get involved this season as we remember all of the wonderful performances of the last 25 years. This newsletter highlights the upcoming season - so read on!
Do you have a suggestion for a future show? Let us know! With facilities being so hard to secure, we have been forced to plan at least a year in advance. But the Board is interested in your ideas for 2011 and beyond! We are always looking ahead and hoping to grow and involve as many people as we can. The more volunteers we have, the more money we can raise, and the bigger the shows we can produce. Do you want to see a large show with lots of teens and children? Then step up and ask how you can be a volunteer or how you can donate to the cause. Did you know that 2010 will bring two shows that will feature children and will be performed right in Damascus? Ask how you can get your own children involved!
We would like to be able to rent out larger theaters which can support bigger shows with larger casts (such as the Olney Historical Stage or local high school stages), but we cannot do this without the proper financial support. This is a family-oriented community theater that only thrives with your help, and the Board is open to all ideas from its Membership. Use your voice, your time and your talents to move DTC into the next 25 years!!
